narcissists: trump, other politicians and those who support them

Trump finds himself increasingly alone on North Korea - POLITICO

so what else is new? trump would do anything to make himself look good--trash his own staff, trash other republicans, trash democrats, trash allies, etc. trump even cozies up to the likes of kim jong un, putin and other adversaries. in egomaniac trump's mind, he's an "extremely stable genius"--everybody else is a chump.

not that trump is alone. look at congress. democrats and republicans engage in "politics of personal destruction".

do any of these egomaniacs understand "the common good"? apparently not.

riverwalk, town park, strasburg, virginia

"Town Park

The Town of Strasburg maintains the Town Park located along at Park Road at the east end of Queen Street. The park includes a large playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, a swimming pool, and a number of picnic and pavilion areas, as well as access to the Riverwalk and the Shenandoah River. The trail connects the park with Strasburg High School on Ram Drive.

Riverwalk

Begin your walk along the Strasburg Riverwalk at the Strasburg Town Park. The gravel walkway, located along the Shenandoah River, offers beautiful views of the river and the face of the Massanutten Mountain Range called Signal Knob. The .9 mile walk ends at Strasburg High School (Ram Drive) and three benches and three doggie clean-up stations are located along the walk.

River Access

The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is easily accessed at the Strasburg Town Park. A boat landing and gravel parking lot are available for people wanting to float the river on kayaks, tubes, or canoes, and very shallow drafting aluminum boats. This is a great area to float to from the Deer Rapids access point, approximately five miles upstream. If floating downstream, please be cautious of a dangerous dam about five miles from the Strasburg Town Park. For your convenience, port-a-potties are available at the parking lot."

unfortunately,
* this is a warning to all those dog owners who ignore the posted signs that say that your dog must be on a leash. if you fail to control your dog and it attacks me, then I will do whatever it takes to keep your dog from attacking me--whatever it takes. consider yourself warned.

unfortunately, failure to address user safety and security concerns, lack of enforcement of laws/rules and lack of maintenance have made a liability out of what should be an asset--not to mention diminishing the experience for those who use riverwalk.

guns in the town of strasburg, shenandoah county, va: target practice at night & a man firing a shotgun from a boat in the shenandoah river next to town park

Packed crowd as Shenandoah County leaders discuss becoming Second Amendment Sanctuary

shenandoah county, VA doesn't need to be designated a sanctuary county--it already is one.

65 of virginia's 94 counties have gun regulations. Local Firearms Ordinances

shenandoah county is the 26th most populated county in virginia. Virginia Counties by Population despite being ranked 26th in population, shenandoah county is one of the 29 counties in virginia without county gun regulations. that's why there's target practice at night and a man firing a shotgun while in a boat in the shenandoah river next to strasburg town park.

neighboring warren county, ranked 28th in population in virginia, is one of the 65 counties in virginia with gun regulations. Front Royal, warren county seat, was once called "helltown". what does that make strasburg?

* details:
I walk riverwalk almost every day. mid-morning one day in early January, I was about halfway back from the high school to the parking lot when I heard a blast from a shotgun--loud and close. it came from towards the river (about 100 yards away). at that point on riverwalk, there's an open field between riverwalk and the river. I couldn't see the river, but I could clearly see the trees along its bank. I walked a little farther to the town run crossing (there are trees between the town run crossing and the river) and called 911. about 10 to 15 minutes later I reached the parking lot where town police were talking to a man at the boat ramp. a row boat with a shotgun had been pulled onto the ramp.

the police blotter for January published in the northern virginia daily didn't include the incident. I guess that the police told the man with the shotgun to have a nice day rather than charge him with discharging a shotgun in a boat on the shenandoah river next to town park. I often see preschool children with their adult supervisors playing next to the river.

the other incident occurred a couple weeks ago between 10 and 11 o'clock at night. for more than a half hour Jenny & I heard handgun or small caliber rifle gunshots--pow, pow, a brief pause, pow, pow... target practice. at night. inside town limits.

business-as-usual in strasburg and "no-gun-regulations" shenandoah county, va.
