what's wrong with this picture?

first, let me say that I'm apolitical--I don't like republicans or democrats. here's the question: how come the football game gets cancelled, but thousands skip school on Friday to protest climate change and that's OK? I admit that cheerleaders displaying a political banner at a football game isn't the brightest move in the world, but neither is truancy. C'MON, MAN!!! if one is wrong, then BOTH are wrong.

a century old example of the incredibly poor judgment of some leaders in the catholic church

"On, Nov 13, 1921, a meeting was scheduled here to close the First American Birth Control Conference which saw the public launch of the American Birth Control League, which, in turn, was to become Planned Parenthood. Sanger’s friend Harold Cox was to deliver a speech called ‘The Morality of Birth Control‘, which Sanger authored. He was scheduled to speak after Mary Shaw, founder of the aforementioned Gamut Club. However, to their surprise (though perhaps not total surprise) a squadron of police officers blocked their entrance at the door. After some wrangling, Sanger, Cox, and attendees managed to make their way inside. The police, however, would not allow Cox to speak, dragging him from the stage.

As it turns out, the police claimed to be there at the request of Archbishop Patrick Hayes. They carried Cox and Sanger off to the station followed by a crowd of protesting attendees. As a generator of publicity for her cause, Sanger couldn’t have planned it better. She had long opposed the Catholic church as backward, unscientific, and oppressive of women’s rights, and this debacle, in the eyes of many, proved her point. The American Civil Liberties Union, prominent New Yorkers, and newspapers from all over roundly criticized this trespass on free speech rights. While Hayes was ultimately never found officially responsible, we’ll likely never know for certain whether he did request police intervention. Who knows, it may have been a simple case of ‘Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?’ except, of course, the other way around. Hayes’ friends and sympathizers may have just wanted to help him out by putting a stop to this turbulent woman, at least in his city."

Margaret Sanger NYC Sites, Day 2, Part 2 | Ordinary Philosophy

john 8: 1-11

when will the catholic church learn that "ramming stuff down people's throats", particularly when you've got "dirt on your own hands", doesn't work? it didn't work before and during the protestant reformation, and it hasn't worked since.

barmaid predicts doomsday

'We need to be realistic': AOC predicts Miami won't exist 'in a few years' without Green New Deal

we presume that she knows how to mix drinks. what qualifies a barmaid to be an authority on science-related matters?
answer: nothing

what's happened in this country with STEM--science, technology, engineering, mathematics?

The Decline of American Science and Engineering - American Affairs Journal

it's reached the point where a barmaid, with a degree in international relations, is the self-proclaimed authority on matters of science.

good grief, charlie brown.

Joe Biden On War Story: Details 'Irrelevant,' Don't Undermine Judgment : NPR

biden, trump, democrats, republicans:
this is why the public is fed up!
THE TRUTH IS IMPORTANT!
after 3 years of a lying president, lying candidates and lying politicians on both sides of the aisle, the country has had it with politicians who think that telling the truth isn't important!

minds of mush: media--enough already--about jeffrey epstein's sex slave!

Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘sex slave’ seen at Naomi Campbell’s birthday party in 2001

I've seen it now at least a dozen times: jeffrey epstein's sex slave accuser virginia giuffre complaining that she so wanted to see jeffrey epstein convicted in court--and now she can't--because he's dead.

what's the matter with her? epstein's dead. and she's probably going to get millions suing epstein's estate.

and what's the matter with the media that they keep showing her sad story over and over and over and ... again?

answer: because the sex slave and the media are, and epstein was, sick.

our 2-party system of government--the republican and democratic parties--is failing our nation

Opinion: Two days, two mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio -- just another weekend in America - Los Angeles Times

these are just the latest two in a LONG list of mass shootings, including the last 6+ years--from newtown, CT in december 2012, where six adults and 20 grade-school-age children were killed by a deranged 20 yr. old gunman with an assault rifle, to the present.

List of mass shootings in the United States - Wikipedia

why haven't our elected representatives from the republican and democratic parties addressed this HUGE problem?
could it be because republicans are too busy blaming democrats, and vice versa?
regardless of their excuse, there is NO excuse for our government representatives' failure to address this HUGE problem.

can any candidate for POTUS claim the moral high ground?

the republican president's daily trashing and poor treatment of friends and enemies, immigrants and citizens, republicans and democrats, other countries, etc. in his tweets and in his daily public and private speech is immoral. his favoring the rich over the poor, his other discriminatory policies and his infidelities are likewise immoral. his support of dictators who deny basic human rights, e.g. north korea, saudi arabia, etc., is immoral. his failure to address gun, environmental and other important issues is immoral.

democrats who support murdering babies even to moments before they are naturally born are immoral. using vitriolic and hateful language in attacking republicans, including the president, is likewise immoral.

regardless of whether it's a republican or a democrat, not telling the truth is immoral.

so, are there any candidates running for president who can claim the moral high ground?
answer: no.
