Jerry Nadler

U.S. House Office of Photography [Public domain]

like me, you've probably seen Jerry Nadler a LOT in the news lately. he's 71 years old (about 6 months younger than me). unlike me, he went to an exclusive public high school for gifted students. he graduated from Columbia University in 1969 (I graduated from Villanova University in 1968). He got his law degree from Fordham University and has had an impressive career practicing law and politics. Jerry Nadler - Wikipedia

my question is how can such an intelligent, accomplished man serve in the lawmaking branch of our federal government, US Congress, and be more about impeaching the president than making laws for the betterment of our country? (for the record, I did not, nor would I ever, vote for Donald Trump.)

had enough?

   - the biased news media?
   - or do you think for yourself?

to fix our dysfunctional government is simple and easy--stop voting for republican and democratic party candidates, who don't represent the best interests of our country to move our country forward.

voting for a republican or a democrat is a vote for the party--the hand that holds the puppet/money strings.

public domain

in the next election--national, state or local--vote for someone who shares your values who is not a democrat or a republican.

even with their billion dollar donors, the republican and democratic parties will shrivel up and die if no one votes for their candidates.

nothing will be better for our country.

Pope Francis sending money to Mexican congregations to help migrants

Pope Francis sending money to Mexican congregations to help migrants

should one man be making these kind of decisions?

on the one hand, helping people in dire need is a good thing.

on the other hand, $500K is a lot of money. the source of the money (Peter's Pence) is many donors. should they have a say?

there are other questions. could this action be considered political? how will governments react? how will the public react? is it right for the pope-entate to be the single "face" for actions like these? doesn't the pope have more important things to do? shouldn't the pope be more of a "behind-the-scenes" pope, particularly given the failure of the church to properly address the clergy sexual abuse scandal that has been plaguing the church for decades?

most charities and corporations that make decisions that involve large sums of money have a board of directors who assist in making these kind of decisions.

president George Washington on political parties

a political party "serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection."
Political Parties · George Washington's Mount Vernon

CNN's biased news coverage

Fraser Anning, far-right Australian lawmaker, gets egg on his face - CNN

shame on CNN for making this story about the victim of the assault.

CNN, the assailant is not a hero--he assaulted the speaker. He should be charged with assault.

CNN's blatant bias covering the news is palpable.

I hope that this teacher doesn't teach history or social studies. was the teacher born in a cave? does the teacher have a college degree? from where? assuming that the teacher has lived at least a couple of decades, where has this teacher been?

politicians are good at pointing fingers--not much good at anything else

endless investigations... Nadler says Ivanka Trump, others could 'quite conceivably' become part of House probe | TheHill

aren't the people who we elect to represent us supposed to pass laws and enforce laws and move our country forward?

democrats are great at pointing fingers at republicans--and vice versa.
as a matter of fact, that's all that republicans and democrats are good for!

it's WAY past time to fix this mess!
